Web Business Weekly #29

This week I’ve seen a few people talking about struggling to get clients, so let’s talk about that.

I’ve always maintained that one of the best ways to get clients in pretty much any business is partnerships.

First, you have to know that it takes a lot of work to build solid relationships with people that can refer you work. They also won’t pay off immediately – there can be a pretty big lag time before you really get work.

But get this…

We’re currently building enough websites to keep 2 developers busy, and haven’t told anyone we build websites in maybe 18 months.

Our website doesn’t even mention that we build websites (we shifted our focus to software and mobile apps).

It all comes from referral partners that I spent a lot of time and effort building 2-3 years ago.

If you want to read some tips on partnerships, check out this post and scroll down to the partnerships section.
