How often do you get out of your comfort zone?
It’s pretty easy to just fall into the routine of doing the same stuff all the time. We all do it.
But I feel like pushing your own boundaries is important. You might find you’re capable of way more than you think. Or you might stumble on something that becomes a new favourite hobby.
I don’t really know how to quantify the benefits, but there have been many times where I’ve been left thinking… “Thank god I decided to do [insert some random thing I normally wouldn’t do]”.
If you Google “pushing comfort zone” you’ll find a bunch of smarter people with real evidence.
In the past I’ve ended up in super cool abandoned buildings, found hidden waterfalls and learned new skills from pushing boundaries. But then I fall back into a routine and forget about it all.
This 6 weeks living in Thailand has been full of these opportunities though and it’s cool to be “back on the horse”, so to speak.
My strategy when there’s something I feel a bit of resistance to is to just shrug, say “f**k it”, and just go along with it. That seems to result in a lot of fun situations. And scary ones. They call those “character building”
