Content Snare Client Portal

The Client Portal provides a better way to share and manage files with your clients. It is currently available in beta.

You can enable it in Settings → Company → Client Portal:

The Client Portal creates a dedicated space for each client where they can access all shared files. You can organize these files into Client Portal Groups, which function as categorized folders. Bear in mind that share links are not available in the beta version.

The portal is accessible to clients and internal users with the appropriate permissions. If a company enables this feature, team members will see a Client Portal button on each client’s page, allowing them to view and manage shared files.

Some of the key features of the Client Portal include:

  • Customizable portal details: Users can set a portal title (e.g., “Documents for Your 2025 Tax Filing”) and decide whether to include instruction text for clients.
  • Email notifications: When a new Client Portal Group is created, the system can notify the client with a customizable email subject and message.
  • Quick access and file management: Users can create new Client Portal Groups from any page using the Quick Actions menu.
  • Team page integration: Similar options for file access and management are available for team members, allowing them to handle documents and requests assigned to them.

Sending files to clients

To send files to your client, go to the Client page and click the name of the client you want to share files with. Once done, go to the Client Portal tab and click the blue button to upload the first files:

Once there, you’ll be able to:

  • Name this client portal/group
  • Upload files
  • Turn the toggle bar on/off to choose whether to notify client that new files were added

When you’re finished, click the Save button to confirm settings and file uploads.

Global Client Groups

You can also share files with all clients simultaneously without triggering email notifications. These global groups appear alongside individual client-specific groups. To do that, go to Settings → Company → Client Portal and click the Add Global Group at the bottom of the page:

Once done, your global client portal will appear below the Add Global Group button. From there, you can remove individual files by clicking Delete next to the file name.

Note: When adding files to Global Client Groups, clients will not receive notifications. These groups are designed for sharing general files with all clients at once, so notifications are disabled to prevent unnecessary emails.

Should you wish to make changes to the group, click the dotted menu in the upper-right corner to access the following options:

  • Rename: Change the name of your group
  • Add files
  • Delete: Bear in mind this will delete the entire group and cannot be undone

When adding files to Global Client Groups, clients will not receive notifications. These groups are designed for sharing general files with all clients at once, so notifications are disabled to prevent unnecessary emails.

For trial accounts, there is a limit of 10 notification emails per day when using the Client Portal.
