How PIN codes are generated and managed for client requests

If you enable PIN protection on a request, the code is not generated by you or by the system. The first person who opens the request link will be prompted to create a PIN:

That code is set once and will then be required every time the request is accessed.

Note: The same PIN applies to all requests for that client.

In other words, the PIN is not automatically sent to the client. Because the client creates it themselves, they are responsible for remembering and using it for future access.

Important things to keep in mind

Anyone who has access to the request link can set the PIN if the client hasn’t opened the request yet, including your team members.

Anyone with the link can also request a PIN reset email. For this reason, it’s important to only share the request link with the intended recipient.
